KSF Teaching: Dr. Veronica Segarra, High Point University

Dr. Veronica Segarra (KSF Class of 2017) is involved in research and teaching at High Point University, as well as committee responsibilities as co-chair of the Minorities Affairs Committee (MAC) for the American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB). Dr. Segarra’s discussions about the responsibilities of teaching next-gen trainees is a reminder of the importance of having strong and committed faculty in our nation’s postsecondary institutions. A mentor to her students, as well as a Keystone Symposia mentee, Dr. Segarra focuses a lot of attention on sustaining quality teaching experiences for her own students. Please join me in listening to a few tips on how to keep undergraduate science students engaged while creating essential space to maintain your own research focus as an early career scientist.
